Magical Memories
Since I was young, I have always loved Disney movies. They remind me of the fun memories I have with my family. One of my many memories is when my siblings and I would have a “downstairs picnic”. Our mom would place a picnic blanket on our family room floor and cook a pizza for my siblings and me. While the pizza was in the oven, we would decide which movie to watch. We always picked a Disney movie. I remember sitting next to my siblings as each movie concluded with a happy ending.
For my body of work, I created six plates, two salt and pepper shakers, a teapot, two tea cups, two dishes, a pitcher, a lidded form, and a charcuterie board. The plates were inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. For each plate, there is one dwarf. Each underglaze was custom-made specifically for each article of clothing. I sketched the dwarfs onto the plate and then painted over the sketch. The salt and pepper shakers are also based on Snow White, they are poison apples. The teapot and tea cups are based on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. On the teacup, not all the roses are painted. This is because, in the movie, the cards were painting the roses red because they planted white flowers by mistake. However, they did not get to finish painting the roses because they were caught by the Queen. The pitcher is based on Sleeping Beauty, when the two fairies, Flora and Merryweather, were arguing about what color Aurora’s dress should be. The lidded form is a pumpkin carriage, based on Cinderella when she rushed away from the ball at midnight and the magic from her Fairy Godmother disappeared. Finally, for Aladdin, I created the magic carpet. I sketched the magic carpet design on the slab, then painted over it.
As I prepare to move on to the next chapter in my life, I want to reminisce on the memories I had as a child with my family. I hope that this set reminds everyone of a heartwarming memory that they hold close to their hearts.

Bee Bowl
This bowl is shaped like a bee hive with bees attached to the sides. I created the bowl shape by throwing it on the wheel and adding the curves ti it when the bowl had it's shape. Then I created the yellow color for the hive and made it a lighter yellow so the background would not be the same as the bees.
VMFA project
I created a box in the cater to combine two VMFA pieces of art is saw at the museum. I hand made the box, measuring each side to keep the dimensions the same. One each side was in place, I added slab and cut our pieces to make it look like an old damaged box. To add the other element I coiled clay and attached it to the side of the box. once it was bone dry I used a light brown underglaze for the wood and a dark brown to give the missing pieces of wood more dimension.
Tea Pot
For this tea pot I wheel threw the body, lid, and spout. I also threw two tea cups and plates to go with it. From there I added a handle to each piece. After that I added roses to the tea pot by creating a thin small slab and rolling it up. I also put a heart on the in order to open the pot. Then I added red partially on the roses and dripping from the top of the cups and from the spout.
